York County Code of Ordinances, takes you directly to Chapter 56 where it establishes standards for public nuisances in unincorporated York County, including specific requirements related to noise. The ordinance defines prohibited and unreasonable noise, establishes decibel limits for residential areas and industrial activities near residences, and sets specific standards for construction noise. It also outlines how noise violations are measured and enforced.

Prepared by Arup US, Inc. in January 2025, this report uses computer modeling to estimate noise from normal operations of the planned data center campus and compares projected levels with York County noise standards. The study considers nearby residential properties and proposed noise-reduction measures. Concerns as to the accuracy of the type and models used to evaluate against. There appears to be different models of equipment being used than what is currently noted in research thus far by YCCRG.
Note: The study evaluates modeled normal operations and does not include noise from construction, maintenance, emergencies, or other exempt conditions.
